Theatre Workshops: What, How, When

Share

Theatre Wallay regularly conducts theatre workshops for educational institutions, organisations, and community groups across Pakistan. Our workshops are designed to provide immersive, hands-on learning experiences that foster confidence, creativity, teamwork, and effective communication skills.

Below is an overview of what we offer for anyone interested in arranging a workshop with us.

Workshop Formats

We offer multiple formats depending on the needs of the institution or group:

  • Short sessions: 3-hour introductory workshops
  • One-day intensives: 4–6 hours
  • Multi-day workshops: Up to 5 days for more comprehensive training

All workshops prioritise practical, activity-based learning, with minimal lecturing.

Training Modules

Our workshops can focus on a single skill or combine several modules. Some of our most popular options include:

  • Acting (including voice, movement, and character work)
  • Confidence Building/Public Speaking (Stand-Alone Workshops)
  • Direction
  • Script Development
  • Improvisation (available on its own or as part of acting training)

We also offer customised modules based on the goals of the host organisation.

Our Trainers

Workshops are facilitated by senior members of Theatre Wallay, including:

Both are highly experienced theatre practitioners and trainers with extensive work in performance, education, and community engagement.

Cost Structure & Logistics

The cost of a workshop depends on:

  • The duration (number of days and hours per day)
  • Number of trainers required
  • Travel and lodging (if outside Islamabad)

As an example, a 2-day workshop typically includes:

  • Trainer fee (including preparation)
  • Travel expenses
  • Lodging (or accommodation provided by the host)

Exact amounts are shared once workshop details are finalized, but we always ensure transparency and flexibility.

Venue & Participant Requirements

To conduct the workshop effectively, we recommend the following:

  • A spacious, unfurnished room that allows free movement
  • A few chairs for participants who may need them
  • Participants in comfortable, casual clothing
  • Drinking water available (workshops involve physical activity)
  • Tea or snacks are optional but appreciated
  • Ideal group size: 15–20 participants
    • For larger groups, additional trainers may be required

Scheduling & Availability

Workshops can be scheduled on weekdays or weekends, depending on trainer’s availability. Many institutions plan workshops several weeks in advance, so early coordination is encouraged.

Customization & Collaboration

Every workshop is tailored to the needs of the host organisation. We discuss objectives, skill levels, and expected outcomes before designing the final plan.

We also welcome collaborative projects, extended training, and performance-based partnerships where relevant.
